Chapter 2 - Upstream
Esme was confused! She didnt know where to go! She looked behind her and saw nothing! The wicked gorgon had left with Moonlight and Esme knew she had no option but to get the egg and save her beloved pegasus. Closing her eyes, she spun around and went in the direction she was facing. It was upstream. As she approached the old, warn out , bridge she was sure that it would collapse.
Tired and hungry she took the first step on the hazardous bridge. One step then another she took, breathing her heavy breath. Her blood shot eyes peered at the other side. "Just a couple more steps." she whispered. As she approached the end she thought to herself : 'Moonlight, I need him' but she knew she had to struggle on, even if it killed her. Esme ran, far away from the bridge, until she was panting.
Swiftly walking, Esme felt a harsh pain from her wounded arm. As it bled the pain stretched from the tip of her chewed down fingernails to her bony shoulder. But she wasn't foucused on that at the moment; she saw infront of her, a volcano.
